The Ron Smith Memorial Award
Ron Smith was a dedicated and passionate basketball, baseball, and football official for over 15 years. His favorite was football. He took great pride and enjoyment in the competition and camaraderie of being involved in the game after his playing career was over. He played football and baseball in Quincy High School and then went on to play both sports at Dartmouth College. He is a member of the Quincy Sports Hall of Fame. His two sons, Grant, and Ross have followed in his footsteps, as both continue to officiate year round in those three sports. Ron was a larger than life figure at 6'5", 270 lbs. He was a devoted husband of his wife Patricia, married for 33 years and father of Grant, Kara, and Ross.
